New Music Studio is a platform for the pursuit of new music activities associated with Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. New Music Studio events celebrate music and sound from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, with a particular focus on works of the past 50 years.
New Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music
New Music Studio provides a place for musicians to collaborate, compose, investigate, curate and perform new works together, to engage with leading Australian & international artists, and to connect with the public and the broader new music community.
New Music Studio events might include concert performances, installations, online showcases, workshops and masterclasses, panels and lectures, led by staff, graduate students, alumni, or external performers, ideally drawn from a blend of these parties. New Music Studio supports music of any genre - drawn from classical, jazz & improvisation, composition, and interactive composition, as well as proposals that engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.
